    Office Exercises to Keep Living

On a lighter note as compared to my previous blogs with some thinking involved, I decided to take a break. Office work has been very tiring for me. I have to say since the very reason I was mostly offline for about a month or two (past 2 months lah) is my work. I was averaging 16 Hrs/day at work and an almost 6-day work-week. Gaah! Where did my life take me? It's one way of killing your self so go ahead and try it at your own risk! Well, in case you're wondering, my work field is in the BPO industry and I focus on process mapping, contact center standards, business continuity management, certifications, and audits. And just recently, one of our clients was put to the test and audited as mandated by the US Federal Law. This consumed most of my time lah!

While it's not that hectic nowadays, I know there are more to come since we already found out our gaps and we have to bridge 'em. Of course, with the help of my boss, I'll work on it. I'm double dead, right? So before that happens, I tried to look for the most efficient desk work exercise to help me avoid at least the thing called carpal tunnel syndrome and the likes. Scoliosis? Heck! I already have it now so I can't avoid it anymore (mine is called levoscoliosis lah). I found this along the way:

    exercise - office - athabascau

Honestly, I got bored. Let's modify that ...

My gamer friend (offline) Luciel Fernandez, insisted on trying a different routine which is proven to be more effective. I have to say, it's true so go on and try as well. You might have seen this elsewhere but this one, well, it's just forwarded to me thru email by Luciel so sorry for lack of credits lah! I just decided to give it a little twist. Do these while listening to Low - by Flo Rida Ft. T-pain.

    Exercise # 1: Warm Up

exercise1 - warm up  Breath. Sway arms up. Let go of the hard feelings. Pull arms down pushing away tiredness. Get ready to slap the auditors!

    Exercise # 2: Stretching

exercise2 - stretch  Dance without music. You look likfe a fool. But what the heck? Stretch your arms for a job well done!

Exercise # 3: Upper Body Movements

exercise3 - upper body  Strike a kung fu pose to remind your self that you can fight a battle whatever it is along the way. Scare the auditors away lah!

Exercise # 4: Lower Body Relaxation

exercise4a - lower body - l2r  Sway to the right with a "mighty pose" to show everyone you can do anything.

exercise4b - lower body - r2l Do the same exercise starting on the other side now. Release your need for a fight.

    Exercise # 5: Head Lifting

exercise5a - head exercise - exorcist  Do the Linda Blair move (Reference: The Exorcist movie). Do this 5 times. 2 times will do if you can't sustain 5. You can do the impossible.

exercise5b - head exercise - saw Bang your head as you see in the Saw movies. This will help wake you up when you're already in the 10th hour of your shift.

Exercise # 6: Whole Body Sway

exercise6a - whole body exercise - hawaiian  Sway as if you're dreaming. Imagine you are asleep and move. Actual sleeping is impossible so just daydream that you dreamt sleeping.

exercise6b - whole body exercise - shoulders Do the Michael Jackson shoulder moves to relax your spine and shoulders from the stony position.

exercise6c - whole body exercise - wave Sway fast. This is the most effective way to avoid carpal tunnel syndrome.

Exercise # 7: Feel The Air

exercise7 - jump and pose  Karate pose. Swing up. And Jump! Fly high! You can be a superhero once! Forget getting hungry. You can't grab for food now so fly!

    Exercise # 8: Neck Bend

exercise8 - relax neck  You can break your neck sitting and facing the computer all day but this can be a better way.

    Exercise # 9: Grab a Partner

exercise9 - partner  The best way to enjoy it is to have someone join you. What? You'll kill yourself alone? Try getting an accomplice. You'll be dead laughing!

    Exercise # 10: Cool Down

exercise10 - cool down  After releasing all your stress at work, cool down.

Actually, what I just needed is a laugh amidst all the hard work, the sleepless nights, the hunger strike, the lack of sunlight, and the lack of body movements coz I'm stuck on my PC. These exercises prevented me from being suicidal, except of course for Exercise # 5. And right now, you still have your Xanga friend here alive, blogging and checking your sites out.
